Intense work with cognitively stimulating AI tools shortly before bed degrades deep sleep quality.
What to do about it
Working faster thanks to AI must not become an excuse to remove breaks. Invest the saved time in offline recovery.
- Set an AI curfew: no cognitively demanding tools at least 60 minutes before sleep.
- Use a 50/10 rhythm — after 50 minutes of intense work, 10 minutes fully offline.
- Watch the warning signs: irritability, aversion to offline activities, eye strain.
